I covered several money management issues while working as a reporter for The Balance, a personal finance website in the Dotdash Meredith publishing network. In this full-time, remote position, I wrote about gas prices, stock markets, taxes and other consumer-related topics.

Gathering information from interviews and other online sources, I produced news stories on a daily basis, while working with a team of editors and writers to analyze current events and generate story ideas. I also wrote feature articles that required extensive research and preparation, including a review of oil and gas terminology and an interview of the National Taxpayer Advocate. I often produced informational graphics for these reports, which required interpreting data for visual impact, in addition to importing and numbers from database software.

The site ended its news division in July 2022.
