My experience includes nearly five years reporting for Communications Daily, a Washington D.C. trade publication that covered the telecommunications industry, where I specialized in congressional activity. There, I learned how to dive into complicated issues and discern important details through reports that were accessible to the average reader.
Most recently, I was the owner and publisher of a weekly newspaper covering Wrightsville Beach, N.C. At the Lumina News, I was able to consistently meet deadlines and produce enterprising and exclusive content while in competition with other regional newspapers, TV stations and news sources.
My work has been recognized by the North Carolina Press Association, including in 2016 a first-place award for online breaking news coverage and a second-place award for best multimedia project.
